Creamy shades of white, freshly picked hydrangeas, and burlap covered apothecary cabinets. These are a few of my favorite decorating accessories to work with lately.
Not only are they inexpensive, they also offer the natural look I've always been so fond of. Maybe because I'm a natural kind of girl!
This is the third bundle of hydrangeas I've picked. Remember. last year I didn't have any because of the late frost in early Spring.
When drying my hydrangeas, I pick them after they bloom, when they are somewhat this greenish shade and the blossoms are strong and heavy. Then I just stick them in a container and in about 4 or 5 days they are perfectly dried and make a stunning dried bouquet in any room. They will last for years to come too.
The hydrangeas and the burlap are the inspiration and decorating theme for this transition into Autumn. I can mix the look easily into the holidays also.
As you can see, maybe, I changed things in between taking pictures, and I'm sure I'll be changing it more. Just looking at these pictures allows me to see things in a different light, and helps to get the look I'm trying to achieve just right.
I'm also gearing up for my busy time, in between flea market jaunts, that is. The flea market journeys are my escape from the constant planning, organizing and creating. I create so much better if I have breaks in between.
Plus I'm on the hunt for vintage embroidery items so that I can make the "Vintage Cloth Aprons." The aprons will fit in perfect with the natural presentation. I have an idea in my mind how I want them to look, but getting the prototype made to those standards is yet to be. I've been rolling in around a bit rather than jumping right in.
More burlap bags too. I have some new calico cloth I want to add to the burlap. I'll be wrapping the soap in brightly colored wrappings, and making fresh batches of "Peppermint Foot Creme."
I have some more projects I'll be sharing this early Autumn along with more flea market finds.
Enjoy caring and sharing back to school days.
Happily,
Jill 00 (Two hugs are better than none)
