I had a great weekend antique shopping with Julie. We went to all the places I listed a few posts ago. I'm fastidious when it comes to my preference in antique shops. Fastidious, (love that word), in the fact that I prefer the different out of the ordinary shops and boutiques. I know immediately when I walk into an establishment which category it falls under in my little black book of antique shops.
Before I get going on the antique shop discussion I must discuss the current goings on, SNOW DAY! Not just any snow day, but a THUNDER SNOW DAY! You know what that means, don't you? Surely, I will tell you! It means lots of snow! Have I told you how I love the snow? Oh yes, I have. Getting ready to put the layers on and head outside. I've already got the snow scoop from Lennis as he awoke before me. I slept in and was awaken by the SNOW THUNDER! Dry snow, Lennis says. Well I prefer wet, but I don't want to be a stickler about it.
I shot this picture of my sweet neighbor Mrs. P's home from my entry way. I've talked about Mrs. P before on other posts. Her home always looks picture perfect in the snow. For that matter, her estate looks great in all seasons! A few years ago I took a picture of her lovely home during a snow storm similar to this one. It turned out so pretty her children requested copies. I love the carriage house to the right of the home almost as much as the home itself.
I was disappointed in some of the places I went to. I won't go into the reasons for the dissapointment.
I will however jump with joy and click my heels as I talk about the new place we visited.
Remember when I mentioned this new place that I've never been to?
I absolutely loved this place! Worthy of the best antique shop in Kansas City award by yours truly! Firstly, nice friendly folks inside. Had several lovely conversations with vendors, all eager to carry on with interesting chit chat, love that! Then the selection of merchandise was fastidiously chosen in each and every corner, floor, loved that! Some items pricey, but I enjoyed the window shopping just the same.
So thumbs up for "Bottoms Up!"
Headed upstairs for the under armour gear, boots, gloves, hat and outside in the snow!
By the way if you read Bittersweet, you may wish to become a fan. I post updates often about new products, current goings on, recipes and my antique shop purchases, like the one that I picked up at Bottoms Up. There is an FB icon on the left sidebar.
Enjoy caring and sharing snowy days.
Happily,
