First things first this morning. I'd like to thank everyone that's ordered the fresh bars of patchouli soap. I always freak out and get worried I'll run out before my patchouli loving customers get their stash of the favorite savon! As of this morning, I still have some left, but the inventory is slimmng down. My saturday customers have been digging in the supply also.. Even though I doubled the number of bars that I usually make, it never seems to be enough. Once again, thank you. If you've never tried Bittersweet patchouli soap, you're in for a treat!
My next passionate topic, star flowers.
I know you've seen them before. I grew up with these dried everlasting blooms. When I was a teen my room was filled with handmade ginger jars my mother made in ceramic class and inside the jars were bouquets of star flowers. I've admired and been drawn into their bright flowering beauty ever since. The golden bunches of dried flowers are stunning mixed in with shades of cream and ecru in the studio, shop.
Bittersweet will offer the dried star flowers both at the shop and our web site soon. They will be listed on our bouquets de fleur page along with snow berries, lavender and straw flowers. I think red and blue star flowers will be offered also.
Right now I'm switching out the sea foam green hydrangea blooms that sit in the studio with the gold hues of the star flowers. They are the perfect fall topping!
I think I've mentioned before how I'm not particularly fond of fall colors. Although I like deep rusts, reds, auburn's and gold on their own I for some reason do not like the fall colors mixed. Not sure where those thoughts come from. I kind of feel the same way about green and red together too at Christmas. Again, I love the two colors on their own, but dislike them mixed.
We picked out new wicker furniture for the cedar tree house porch. Speaking of the color rust. I fell in love with that colored cushions.
In th process of painting still. I don't mind painting at all. What a reward when the work is complete. Just standing back looking at the transformation is quite rewarding in its self, I believe.
It's Tuesday already! Where oh where does that thing called time go? I'd like to find its hiding spot!
Enjoy caring and sharing love of sorts days.
