I'm making lilac savon today! I always receive requests for the soft scented spring scent. It's been several years since I've made it. I'm looking forward to bringing it back. The new flavored soap will be available on March 20. Ah yes, the first day of spring seems to be an appropriate time to release the yummy smelling moisture essential.
Our home is topsy turvy! Piles of fabric here, soap supplies sitting, lavender this, and that, sign making stuff, including an overhead projector, paper work, label making, several hundred bars of soap curing! Sometimes it seems our home isn't big enough to accommodate the work areas. That's life I guess. We make due with what we have. In a perfect world I believe I'd have a huge open space with large crafting tables. The room would resemble a textile designers space with plenty of elbow room to cut and paste and mix and store.
I went to the new shop yesterday and did some measuring. Now I know exactly what fits here and what can go there. Always helps to measure.
I have four windows in the shop, nice. There are two large windows in the front of the new shop and a little over-lap made of wood. The area resembles a window seat. Last night while laying in bed I thought, wouldn't the nook make a cozy spot for children to sit. Then a cool idee was formed. What if I made a cushion to fit the over-lap and then while I have the chalkboard paint handy paint some clip boards with the paint. Yeah! I'll keep come colored chalk in a basket and then have the petite chalkboards available for the kids. I have some pretty pillows to place on both sides of the nook. Sweet!
My mind is traveling over 100 miles an hour and new idees that pop-up. The idees mostly appear when I'm attemting to sleep! I'm sure you can relate to that!
I can't wait to get the shop set up and share pictures of the finished boutique.
The decorative endeavors come from a small budget.
I want to show folks that you don't need to have a large wallet to toss out some unique designs.
Enjoy caring and sharing soon to be spring days.
Warmly,
Jill 00
