Dropping by this morning with an extra large helping of "thank you." We estimated some 350 people walked through the new shop yesterday! It was packed and standing room only throughout most of the day. More than several folks left kind happy comments before they made a departure.
My dear friend from high school was my first customer! I've written posts about my friend Nita. She has a shining soul indeed.
It's good to be back! My favorite part of having a shop is conversing with my customers and friends. It's thrilling to meet new souls. Each person I meet offers their individual take on things. It's always been a comfort to see and share others perspectives and learn new things.
I'm on the hunt for a shop chair. It has to be the right size, shape and color though. Sometimes these hunts can extend for days. Over the years I've learned it pays it pays to pick and choose new pieces with a fastidious and careful eye. I've also learned you don't need deep pockets to achieve your look. I'll keep you posted.
Some shop things popped up while in action yesterday. For instance. My check out table needs to be turned around so that the drawer is not pointing in the opposite direction. The new credit card reader isn't working properly. I'm going to request a new one and see if that fixes the problems. If it doesn't then a new credit card processing system will be needed. I have some back-up idees.
The window I stand in front of to check out is sunny and I love it, however it gets HOT! I had to open the window several times yesterday. I was wanting to leave the window naked, but thinking maybe a little half curtain like the one I made for the window ten years ago will be perfect once again.
It's soulfully nourishing to have Bittersweet back in the same exact spot we started with! Isn't that something? I would have never imagined in my wildest dreams. Oops, that's not true. Remember my post about the two lucid shop dreams I had?
Oscar night!
Enjoy caring and sharing soon to be SPRING days. (The weather forecasters are calling for 9, 10 inches of more of the white stuff!) I am needing to walk and it's hard with all the snow on the ground. I'm going to dig out my sleigh and take a couple of swipes down our hill. That should help pick up the pace with my exercise regimen. Elle can go with me. She is also missing our winter walks.
