It's beginning to take shape! This old house has such great bones! I haven't even showed you the fireplace yet. Julie and I are already having a blast.
Love, love, love the chalkboard wall. If you're planning to create one make sure you season it really good before writing on it. Otherwise your first writings will leave behind a ghost forever. Don't look closely at my chalkboard writing because it doesn't look that great. I have been working in Bewitch mode the past few days and scurrying to get things simply done so that I'll be ready for the event today.
Do you notice the long white table? That's my Habitat for Humanity piece I picked up for twenty bucks! It was much shorter. I also found the perfect size legs to adjust the table to be counter top height. I'm really proud of the transformation as my dad and Lennis cut and sized the legs to fit perfectly. Thanks guys. Love you. A couple coats of Wind-Fresh paint and we're ready to roll. The drawers are extra large and wide. I had some baskets that fit perfectly inside the drawers that will be used for soap storage.
All in all, I'd say the room is more than half-way complete. I have one sign hanging outside. You may remember the post about sign making. You can see the little chalkboard sign from down below the porch from the coffee shop. I made it two sided so that you can see it from the street too.
So many things to touch on, but I'm still in speedy Gonzales's mode this early morn.
I thought you might like to see the beginnings.
Enjoy caring and sharing soon to be spring days. (Kind of hard to think Spring with all this snow!) At any rate I'm happy and content as a daisy in my new little shop.
