A few weeks ago my friend Evalyn shared her vintage collection of quilt pieces. She told me some of the swatches were sixty or seventy years old! She has been collecting the quilting pieces since she was a young girl in hopes of some day using to create with.
I was thrilled and honored she chose me as the recipient! The vintage cloth came in a large sack and packed in pretty stationary boxes. Inside the boxes, a variety of cut out vintage fabric shapes and sizes. Some of the fabric appears to be feed sack.
Awhile back I discovered some really cute bunny sacks on Pinterest and wanted to recreate the design with my friend Evalyn's fabric pieces.
Most of the textile pieces are small and the perfect size for cutting out bunny appliques. The linen sacks are a joy to make! Easy and quick and a darling way to present Easter gifts.
I'm mildly obsessed with linen and don't ever see the obsession disappearing. In fact, my idee is to have fine linen tea towels, sacs, and creations throughout my new shop along with artisan soaps of course!
My mind is moving in fast gear to prepare for Bittersweets grand opening. March 20, and the first day of spring is fast approaching! Since I make most of the items sold in the shop I'm nose deep into creating. I feel blessed to have the opportunity once again to be sharing my hand-made creations and to be titled as a shop proprietress!
Enjoy caring and sharing soon to be spring days.
Warmly,
Jill 00
