- "Daffodils" (1804)
I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
- That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
- A host, of golden daffodils;
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
- And twinkle on the Milky Way,
- Along the margin of a bay:
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
- Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
- In such a jocund company:
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
- In vacant or in pensive mood,
- Which is the bliss of solitude;
And dances with the daffodils.
- By William Wordsworth (1770-1850).
I filled both Julies shop and mine with the bright yellow blooms of the happy little flower. Although spring is slow to arrive outside, it's already inside at both boutiques. I shot this last spring. They're not actually daffodils, but jonquils.
I've received some emails lately requesting information about the shop music. I'd be happy to share my favorite singer with you.
Her name is Blossom Deary. Yes, that is her real name. You can order her music here. You won't be disappointed. Blossom has a sweet happy unique singing voice that only she can deliver. Unfortunately she passed away a few years ago. I love her music! I'm waiting to hear back from the music publishers so that I can offer her music in the shop.
Next. The lemon curd recipe I used to make the lemon bars. So easy and a delightful treat to serve for Easter and spring. You may find the recipe here. Don't freak out that it uses the microwave to make the curd. You will love it and it will turn out perfect.
Here's the recipe for the carrot cake served at the grand opening and open house. Don't leave out the pineapple or coconut. You don't even know they're added. Again, another yummy dessert for spring.
Several of you, my wonderful customers, friends, have requested items for me to offer in my new shop. Your suggestions have been top-notch suggestions and I've acted upon some of your requests.
Bittersweet, Jill will offer some of her photographs at the shop. I'm starting with images of herbs and flowers and summer butterflies. The prints will be available in a variety of sizes, but start at 9x 12. Thank you Pandy for the fabulous idea. Merci.
Also, the Chinese scissors. I'm working on establishing a wholesale account with a supplier of the unique cutting devises. As soon as I hear back, I will place an order an offer them at the shop.
Enamel bowls, both small and large, coming!
More lavender bundles and larkspur coming too! I'm so happy you like, love them as much as I!
New natural apothecary products...
A new Spring, Summer parfume. Similar notes to our original scented parfume with a few slight changes in top notes.
A new lotion bar is coming too! I found the coolest packaging for the new moisture bar. Think Green! You will love it!
It's exciting for me to see what, which items appeal to you. I'm also excited to share my creations.
Oh I almost forgot... The vintage style ephemera in the tin case. More of those coming too since I sold out on Saturday.
I believe that's it!
Enjoy caring and sharing days.
