The home front and new beginnings... New porch pillows and chair cushions. Picking up, cleaning, shedding, getting rid of, replacing, and PAINTING! I'm a fanatic about paint. One summer I painted the entire inside of our home. Every single room and with a brush! I'm an experienced painter. Tosse me a drop cloth and a roll of that blue masking tape, putty knife, mud, and I'm off...
It was a challenge to not pick up some flowering plants while at the hardware store today. It's way too early to plant. I do believe however that this spring is arriving early and will quickly head into a summer. I might be wrong, but I doubt it. My mom always said to wait and plant on Mother's day. An instruction I've always attended. For the most part her suggestion is I'd say ninety percent of the time and with our wishy washy mid west Missouri weather an accurate recommendation.
Last winter, well a few days of winter left I guess, I'm sticking with typing last winter, I predicted a mild winter while the farmers almanac and everyone else forecast ed a cold and snowy one. My secret, the wooly bear caterpillar. I've been monitoring that little creature for about five years now and so far, he, she, is pretty much right on with their stripes. Now isn't that interesting?
I'm making this for dinner to go with our Meatless Monday along with toasty bread and a garden salad. Can you tell I'm hungry?
I've been burning a lot of calories working outside.
Hope your spring is off to new beginnings,
Enjoy caring and sharing days.
With all good wishes,
