Even though my closet is oozing every direction with oodles of  fabric, and I have to push the door with my entire body to get it closed,  I fell under its tempting "must have, buy me" spell once again. It is Halloween! This time though , I was tempted by cute holiday fabric. Of course, I have a plan for its use! I've talked about this weakness of mine before. By the way, have you seen Heather's line of fabric? Love, Love, Love  It!

I enjoy browsing the Internet for fabric. There is such a huge selection, and it allows me to set at my desk and plan ahead with pencil and paper. Yesterday, after making the "Cranberry Spice" soap, I did just that, I went to several of my favorite textile websites. One of my favorites had stocked their new holiday fabrics. I am going to use the new fabric to make more Bittersweet heat pillows.

Today is another potpourri day, a little this, a little of that. I'm wanting to paint my studio I might start on that today. It does feel like a painting kind of day to me. Everything white! More coffee consumption and I'll be ready to take that on.

Happy Halloween!

Happily,

Jill 00 (Two hugs are better than one)

I Love Fabric!

I Love Fabric! Dscf1094

We have a great little fabric store in Liberty. If I'm looking for a special fabric, I always go there. As I walk into the door, I find myself getting excited about broadcloth and gingham. I start grabbing them by the bundle, "I want this one, oh, and this one, I didn't see this one, it's beautiful!" You get the picture. It's the same at all the other fabric stores too. It's a good thing, I think?

They all know me by name. "Hi Jill, what are you working on now? they ask."

Most of these people are very talented. Linda for example, makes the most beautiful quilts. As you enter the fabric store, it's the first thing you see displayed next to the door. She used Amy Butler fabrics. It's so bright and beautiful! It is absolutely stunning!

Most of all, it goes back to how I feel about handmade things. Handmade items have soul. Each one is unique and different from the last. As you pick up the piece, you can almost feel the life it has, or the life it had. Either way, I love filling my home and boutique with handmade treasures. Yes, treasures..... Long after your gone, your little handmade creation will live on.......and on.........

Happily, Jill   00(hugs)
