Flea Market Finds..

Aah, the thrill of flea market shopping! I absolutely love it! My heart races as I enter. What treasures await me today?

I thought it would be fun to share my "flea market finds", with you. Another thought comes to mind.

What fun to share yours too!

Yesterday , Julie and I,(Julie, owner of a really cool shop a block up from Bittersweet, Aggieal's Attic.) traveled to one of our favorite flea markets where we almost always find unique and special things.

By the way, I'm not the only one that experiences the heart rate rushes.... That's comforting....

As we entered the front door, we immediately start finding treasures.

Julie and I both collect vintage millinery flowers,(velvet or silk flowers that were once used in making woman's hats).Julie uses them for decorating her shop, placing the delicate petals on pictures and tucking them here and there. I like to sew them onto my totes and travel bags adding a bit of vintage appeal. I found  the absolutely most fabulous buttons to incorporate into my flower pins. A glass jar filled with very old, some metal... I am so excited!

Oh, and a new find for my kitchen. I have very tall kitchen cabinets, you know the kind that you have to reach for a stepping stool to get to the top? I love this old stepping stool! It will be perfect for helping me reach those top kitchen cabinets....

French Bistro Kitchen

I am giving my kitchen a makeover. It is truly overdue!

Although I didn't take before pictures, let me fill you in on what was before. Imagine lots of cows and chickens on the walls....?? YUK. I was so tired of chickens and cows. I ripped that wallpaper off as quickly as you can say "Now you see it, now you don't".

This a picture of the new look. Trying to achieve a "French Bistro Look". Pale soft yellow on the walls, white lace curtains that drape to the floor, black and white toppers over the lace and red accents throughout. I covered the little lamp with the same black and white checked fabric and put little fringe around the bottom, ooh, la, la..........

I wanted to share this little corner of my kitchen....

Little Spring Bird and Bunny Boxes

I found this cute little birdie at a local flea market. He reminds me of Spring.

I am going to paint my kitchen the same soft pale yellow as this little bird.

I've been working on new bunny boxes for Easter. Here is a preview.

GONE FISHING

Spring...... Definitely my favorite season!

I noticed the magnolia trees are blooming and the daffodil's are popping their little heads out.

It's Saturday and I left the boutique early today to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather.

If you've been by the boutique when the weather is like today you might happen to see this little note  on the door.. GONE FISHING

Let me explain..... First, I am a one woman show. Second, while making over one-hundred items and running the boutique and the web site, I also have a family.

Family life is very important to me. Today was one of those slow days at the boutique. So I put up the sign and scurried off to spend some quality time with the ones I love...
