For about two years, I've been starting my day with a large glass of fresh juice. I usually juice three or four carrots and the same number of apples. I purchase all organic especially since I keep the skins on when I mix it up.
I get bad migraine headaches and I have found the vitamin A from the carrots helps control the severity as well as the number of headaches I get. Isn't that amazing? Who would have thought? I've researched this, and also found too much vitamin A can trigger migraines so I would suggest seeing what works for you.
The headaches I get now are hormonal, and called menstrual migraines. Enough of that!
A couple of weeks ago while in front of my friend Julie's shop an old friend stopped by. I hadn't seen her in awhile, and we began talking about all things, JUICE! Am I getting old? I mean come on, talking about my diet with a friend I haven't seen in a long time, weird!
Anyway, I was interested in her juice concoction!
She said she had been mixing fresh pineapple, ginger, apples and carrots.
Yummy! Ever since she recommended the cocktail, I've been picking out the plumpest freshest pineapples at the store.
If you're interested in making it...
Three to four small organic apples. I like Pink Lady's
One large slice of pineapple, trim skin off, probably not organic.
Two - Three organic carrots, washed
A One inch piece of ginger, skinned, washed.
Mix all that in your juicer. The ginger adds a beautiful feng shui effect mixed with the pineapple.
