I printed this picture in my printer the other day from the Country Living web site. It's the same one I posted a few days ago too.
Remember the cream colored dressing table chair I purchased at Bottom's Up?
I keep grabbing the paper it's printed on a looking at it throughout the day.
Making sure to capture details like the oatmeal colored sheets and ecru linen pillows. The knobby throw and white ruffled pillow, the bed.
That bed reminds me of my bed!
I fell in love with this bed the moment I saw it sitting in the antique store some 25 plus years ago.
I was single at the time with little extra money and the bed was not in my modest budget, but oh how I dreamed it would someday be mine! I even made numerous trips to just stand in the store window and gaze at it, hoping no one had purchased it.
Then one day, I stopped by to look at the bed and it was gone! Oh no, I thought to myself.
I remember this like yesterday...
Several weeks passed and I still reminisced about that old iron bed.
Then on my birthday....
My dad gave me this bed!
I remember him saying, "I'm not sure what you see in this bed, but I know how much you wanted it." Oh dad, it's the most beautiful bed I've ever seen and I love it!
Great story and one I will remember for as long as I live.
I'm thinking very little work is needed to make my present bedroom resemble the one in the Country Living picture.
In fact, paint and pillows will bring it to the desired look.
This is kind of what the bedroom looks like now.
A few accessory changes here and there, pillows and a bit of that oatmeal and ecru and I'll have my dream bedroom.
I'll keep you posted on its progress. I have numerous projects moving at the moment so the bedroom makeover will be on the back burner.
Remember the new product I mentioned? I've been keeping a steady eye on it's formulation. As mentioned earlier, a bit finicky! A few more days and I think it will be ready! I'm going to share the secret tincture recipe, remember?
Enjoy caring and sharing winter days.
Happily,
