Summer wouldn't be summer without making a few lazy day crafts. I prefer the easy quick ones that leave you feeling swell because they don't cut into your fun in the sun summer.
I've been adding some charm to ordinary boring envelopes with some colorful liners. This fun craft is suitable for all ages. Supervision of course with the wee ones, but what fun making decorative envelopes.
Here's what you'll need...
Envelopes
Scissors
Decorative paper
Glue stick
Directions: Open your envelope and lay it flat on the back side of your decorative paper. With your pencil trace completely around the shape of the envelope. Cut out. Trim to fit inside envelope. Rub back of template with glue stick making sure to apply glue to all edges. Insert into envelope and press liner into envelope with your hands or a bone folder if necessary. Allow to dry before using.
I'm having fun making these and have a little pile sitting on my kitchen table.
If you want you can make matching stationary by using the left over decorative paper trimmings and cutting long strips and glue them on top and bottom of plain paper. Kind of a green idea so as to not waste your pretty papers.
Enjoy caring and sharing summer crafting.
Happily,
