Sprinkles of lilac blooms and lavender fill the work table. Mounds of soap bars beginning to spread out. I'm making the new Wild Poppy savon today! Then after the soap is mixed and poured the labeling thoughts begin. I'm partial to the original art work simply because I love the vintage looking illustrated poppy. I'm also fond of the font. The color is perfect.
This image will be incorporated into the final label design with a few nips and tucks.
This design was the original. I like it, but that's about it. When it comes to describing a design the word "like" just isn't the word I'm looking for. I have a built-in critic that lives inside me. Sometimes that's a good thing while other times, not so good. Simply because I can ponder design idees for days. I can always tell if I'm not in the design creation mood too. When I feel that way I stay clear from the design work. I kind of feel the same about photography. It's necessary for me to be in a particular mood to dish out quality work.
When the design blocking rears its ugly head I bake! Usually and most always baking allows my head to clear and I'm back up and running. Silly isn't it? There is some sort of logic behind the process. I'm usually baking with chocolate! Last night I made these. Speaking of critics. I'd give this recipe a 9 1/2. I used peanut butter for the icing. For some reason I had been craving chocolate and peanut butter. I kept thinking about Ina's dark chocolate cake or cupcakes topped with rich creamy peanut butter icing. By the way, that recipe is yummy too!
Off to make Wild Poppy I go!
Enjoy caring and sharing days.
Warmly,
