When I was growing up I loved that song. I had no idea of the songs original origin however until now. Isn't that interesting?
When I called to order the fat bundles of lavender from our supplier this morning they told me we're out until the end of August! Oh no! This can't be... I trust no other lavender grower but the one we order from. They're local and the bundles are plump and fresh and oh so what lavender bundles should be. I've ordered from other dried flower suppliers before, only to be dissapointed.
Speaking of not disappointing folks... That rich creamy sudsy lather Bittersweet is famous for is available for your eyes to see and your hands to touch for the first time. I know without a doubt my hands were the cleanest in town on Saturday! Further testing is needed I believe...
Soap manufacturing continues... I'm in limbo waiting on essentials to arrive so that I can make some of the new summer savon. However, soap production continues with blends of patchouli and lemon and fresh new flavor combinations designed to be an herbal delight to your senses.
The topic of pillow cases has surfaced. If you're like me and love to stack and pile pretty pillows dressed in fancy cases then you already know about how I feel about pillow slips, (that's what my grandmother Lola called them.) Pretty pillow cases tops my favorite list and falls directly behind vintage handkerchiefs, (white only), along side antique pictures of children. I'm especially fond of children images from the Victorian era.
We had the perfect little rain yesterday. All of the plants are singing and dancing! The tiny seeds I planted in clay pots have sprouted and they're flourishing. I'm excited because generally when I plant seeds in pots the pesky squirrels dig them up. Patrick gave me a garden tip for keeping the squirrels away. They're are of course pros and con's when using the added keep away squirrel mystery product, but after reading about them all I believe the no more squirrels in my flower pots is worth the risk. Very tiny risk at that and I'm not eating my flowers.
Are you curious about what the mystery product is? I knew it. I will happily disclose. The mystery product is bone meal. I sprinkled a tiny, tiny amount on the dirt. It works beyond words. You may wish to read about bone meal on plants before trying it. Dried bones and all. Packed with nitrogen.
Hang our sheets on the line day. Have you ever done it? You will love it!
Enjoy caring and sharing summer days.
Warmly,
Jill 00
