Holiday shopping has sprouted! Shoppers are getting a jump on the holiday season, so it seems at the hand-made shop. Only two Downton Hats left! Bagging up heat pillows since the weather turned chilly. I've been using mine to warm the bed, and my feet stay toasty warm.
I cherish autumn, but love Christmas! Life is kind of odd living in a retail world. You never know if customers are wanting to shop early for Christmas. Some do, and some don't. This season it seems more are choosing the before over the after.
I began mixing my winter potpourri. The aromatic, but not to aromatic hand-picked blend of pepper berries, tiny hemlock cones, seeded eucalyptus, cinnamon sticks, allspice, cloves, cedar, and those unique petite pine cones I plucked from my neighbors yard. Yes, I did get permission. The unique gathering of natural winter herbs and spices is packaged in a burlap bag and tied with a sweet little tag made especially for gift giving.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care. Actually my test market area. The stocking made with vintage embroidery has by far been the most favorite with customers. That will be the prototype for more stockings to come.
I've had some phenomenal gift surprises lately at the hand-made shop. Some of which instantly put a smile on my face and a warm glow in my heart. People dropping by from all over the country and letting me know that Bittersweet was their choice of hot spot and destination to visit while in Liberty. You have no idea how happy that makes me. If I live to be one-hundred these moments will shine.
Yesterday a girl came in and told me that her mothers birthday was today and that she asked the girls at her office what the heck do I get my mom whom has everything and wants nothing? A coworker suggested a cute hand-made shop just off the square, but could not remember the name of the shop. Immediately another coworker cut in and said, Oh yeah, Bittersweet, You must go there to shop for your mom. Her face creams, scrubs, soaps, etc. are wonderful and your mother will love them!
Joy, Joy, Joy and Sugar Plum thoughts!
Enjoy caring and sharing days.
Warmly,
