Creating new summer items for the hand made shop. Love, love the friendship soaps! A bar of moisture rich Bittersweet wrapped inside a vintage handkerchief. The "Friendship Soaps" are popular at both the brick and mortar shop and web shop. I'm always on the hunt for pretty handkerchiefs.
Organic cotton, love that too! Transformed into useful bath accessory with some added trimmings. This fabric loving girl loves choosing the trims.
The petite coin purse made from a variety of textiles including Liberty of London and Cabbage Rose fabric. Love that too! I'm fond of the sew in clasp over the glue in ones.
The dark ale that was used to make the beer soap transformed the glossy savon into a rich caramel. The bay rum adds the final touch to the new soap. It will be available in July. I'm happy to tell you, no explosive reaction! However, I do believe in the cold process world of soap making that it could easily happen if you weren't paying careful attention to your work. This was a trial run so I'll be making more beer soap down the road.
My work table is filled to the brim with new Bittersweets! I'm making vanilla lavender soap this morning. It's a favorite at the shop. Pondering soap thoughts of charcoal and furry friend soap. Tea Tree will be included in the charcoal soap and cedar will be added to the furry friend bars. Cedar is an effective natural insect repellent.
In the crazy retail world it's the beginning of holiday planning! The Christmas soaps will be arriving in October just as they have for the past seventeen years. I can only stop and smile inside and out when taking a moment to extract the memories. I also appreciate and am thankful for the hand made life. Creating has always formed a healthy balance and evoked a unique well being. It's the Feng and the Shui. My perspective is that it generates a fulfillment unlike anything else. Thank you God.
Enjoy caring and sharing days.
Warmly,
