The vintage boutique and apothecary shop are planning a number of gatherings. They will be called, "twilight soirees". The soirees, or little parties will be organized with a personal invite and consist of a small gathering of friends, family, customers. We're mixing and mingling at our shops. We especially wish to thank our loyal friends and patrons. Wine tasting, bites, and little thank you gifts will be provided during each soiree. We're making plans for an August party. Speaking of August, I can't believe it's already here!
My summer excitement is beginning to fade and I'm starting to yearn for Autumn. Happens every year about this time, depending on how hot it gets. I'm almost ready for jeans, boots, scarfs and long sleeves. Plums and rusts, poncho's and shrugs.
The garlic lady is going to be on the shop porch this morning offering her organic gourmet garlic! I love cooking with a variety of garlics. Some varieties are weak while others are pungent. Depending on what you're preparing, determines the type of garlic to enhance the flavor of your dish in a most delightful way. Kind of reminds me of that Mary Poppins song. Just a spoon full of sugar, garlic. Well, maybe not, but my mind traveled their for a brief moment!
A speaking engagement on Monday and I'm preparing gifts for the audience. Little note cards stacked with brief highlights about Bittersweet. A soap maker's life...Lovely and blessed, always.
Soon the shop will be easing into Fall. A subtle transition from late hot summer into mild maple Autumn. Shades of ecru and burnt plums, pondering.
