Green, lovely green, it's everywhere and in between, and I love it!
I dropped by my neighbors last week to get permission to pick a few sprigs of their lily of the valley. There's a large crop of lily of the valley in the courtyard of the Jesse James Bank Museum. The museum sits north of Bittersweet Apothecary, and when the spring wind is blowing from the south the perfume travels to my shop porch. It smells amazing! Hard to believe Mrs. Frank James planted the spring bell flowers many years ago, and it's still thriving and sharing its natural beauty. I always know that when the museums lily of the valley is blooming spring is too.
If those rocking chairs could talk they would say, hey, come here, relax, and rock your troubles away. If not for a brief moment or two, maybe longer if the mood strikes you. I love looking out the shop window to see folks sitting in the rockers!
The new sign directional sign that motions folks in the right direction. By the way, if you're looking to create a sign this is the way to go.
I picked up the wood frame at my local hobby shop and then within a matter of minutes had the sign finished. I like the fact that the hydrangea can be replaced with fat peonies, oak leaves, and seasonal foliage.
We've been custom blending bug sprays at the shop. It's that time of year. Missouri mosquitoes grow pretty large, and there isn't a shortage of them once spring arrives.
I'm going to sneak up to the shop and pick up a facial oil. I can't live without this stuff! The rose clay is also atop my favorite new summer product.
We have two families of birds with nests. One at the shop, and another at home in our Boston ferns. Not an ideal nesting spot, but I didn't have the heart to remove the nests from either place. Baby birds are a chirping!
I saw a colorful hummingbird in the garden yesterday. They are such a sweet little bird and bring joy to those who bird watch. By the way, bird watching is popular again. DId you know that? It's hard to be in a hurry or anxious while watching birds.
I planted two of these at the shop. The name alone makes me smile. Fiddle-Leaf Fig. Say it three times really fast!
Planning for the annual Make Music Liberty Day is in full swing. We already have several artists lined up to perform on the porch on the first day of summer. This is an all-day music extravaganza!
It's usually pretty hot! I'll be enjoying listening while managing the shop. The best of both worlds.
I'm pondering thoughts of bringing back a couple of Bittersweet lines for summer.
Lake House and Country Fair lines were unique and different. Still tossing around some ideas, but leaning towards both notions.
Keep the faith.
