Who knew that making paper bows would complete you! Well, maybe not, but they are fun to make. Great idea for the holidays, or maybe to clip on a tree or garland.
I found this link and printed the template and then cut them out and transferred to decorative papers. Honestly, I think they'd be nifty in simple kraft paper.
Less is sometimes more.
Our seasonal soaps are here and then gone! This one was just pulled from inventory.
The Twelve Days of Christmas soap begins arriving next Wednesday, and we're gearing up for an Artisan Holiday.
It's wrapped and ready to showcase.
I spent the entire day in-between customers hanging garland and strings of white lights on the shop porch, and it looks inviting and festive for shoppers.
If you've never been in retail, then chances are you can't understand the process of preparing for holiday sales. Small business, just like big business thrives from the holiday season. You can't predict who is wising to shop early so it's best to be prepared. My shop is a little different than most since we offer one of a kind limited goods. We have mad rushes of people coming in this time of year to ensure they get our stock of seasonal soaps before we sell out.
It's been that way for over twenty-one years!
You know, I'm as passionate about what I do just as much, if not more than I was when Bittersweet was first born. Blessed!
I am in love with these fuzzy faux fur stockings! I've had lots of people as about the white pom-poms. I purchased them at my local hobby shop for a dollar or so. They are located with the wood crafts. They're kind of fun to hang here and there. You could even string cotton balls and get kind of the same effect.
The crackling of the fire, pine cones strung along the mantle, soap mounds layered, and the shop is being transformed once again in a holiday shop.
I had an extra afternoon of idle time. Doesn't happen often. I am required to spread home chores out during the course of a month simply because I'm so busy with shop duties and manufacturing. We have a fireplace in our home, but it could use some work before we'd feel safe burning fires in it. We also have a small gas stove that we house inside the fireplace that we use when it gets arctic cold. The stove is great and produces a lot of heat, but is not what I'd call pretty to look at. This is when having a carpenter husband comes in hand. I tell him what I want, and he makes it.
It's made from shiplap! It fits in with our furniture and decor. Our home was built in 1921, and that's the original tile around the fireplace. We had it covered with new tile but ripped it up a while back. Isn't it funny how we go back sometimes with design?
Keep the faith.
