I mentioned in my last post how it feels as though Bittersweet is starting over after the holidays. We usually sell out of soap so that means the process of starting over with manufacturing does indeed, start over! So that is what we do... It takes time to build our inventory, so during this time, although at a slower pace, manufacturing never stops. I always ponder positive vibes because selling out of soap is a great thing!
Bittersweet plans ahead with their manufacturing. Since it takes four to six weeks for our amazing soap to cure I'm always a couple of months ahead. Over the years, in fact, the past twenty-three to be exact, I've grown accustomed to this method of thinking. It's always kind of sweet to ponder thoughts of spring in the dead of winter.
I've been spending a few days at the store what I refer to as clearing the decks. While most stores are hosting sales and specials in the month of January, Bittersweet is doing the opposite. We're unpacking all of our latest arrivals and noodle around with scent combinations and blends. I always take advantage of the low inventory and redesign labels and packaging too. In other words, it's a busy time behind the scenes at Bittersweet!
I ran across this phrase and thought it to be inspiring.
Talk to yourself like someone you love...
It kind of has a great ring to it!
I also admired this one...
The other day I was inspired to make a soap that I've not made in years. Patchouli Palmarosa. Most of you are probably not familiar with Palmarosa. It has a unique bouquet and one that kind of sticks with you. I kind of think it to be similar to rose geranium in that way.
Palmarosa is viewed as helpful in uplifting and steadying the emotions. Palmarosa is also a wonderful oil to consider pulling out of the oil box when seasonal illness strikes. It blends ever so lovely with patchouli! The new, old, soap will be ready towards the end of the month.
I also began getting ready for our Huge Soap Sale! I took a huge basket of soaps to the store this morning and started to fill the soap cabinet with the aromatic cakes of soap.
Our store is beginning to shape up into 2021!
Keep the faith.
