The older I get the more I realize the significance of lifting up others. By doing so you enrich someone else's life by letting them know that lifting doesn't always require a heavy load. My shop offers a platform for the lift. Something else I've noticed lately is that when you think fondly of someone even if it's someone you don't know that well, tell them how kind they are. We're living in a world that needs this daily nourishment.
My great grandmother Lucy would be all over our zero waste collection. Without a doubt she'd love our clove and cinnamon household cleaner along with tallow soap and linen aprons. We're expanding this days gone by line with a back to basics approach. Our inspiration was driven by simple living when less was more and it meant it!
How often have you purchased a product only to be disappointed? Just the other day, I was reflecting on how the soap and skincare essentials that Bittersweet makes must meet my high expectations. My bar is set high, and I expect to see results after using a soap or face cream for the very first time.
These high standards are applied to every product that Bittersweet proudly makes. I use Bittersweet products every day, and if I didn’t believe in them, I wouldn’t be able to recommend them to you. Thankfully, that’s not something we worry about because we carefully examine the ingredients and fine-tune the production method of each item before it hits our store shelves. It’s the attention to these details that makes all the difference.
We've already been focusing on fall and winter production in the studio. Our selection of yummy fall hues and outsourcing along with soaps scented with aromatic blends fascinates me each year. Twenty-seven years is a long time and we've shared many fall collections. You'd think that the ideas would get stale or we'd experience design block, but it's never happened. I'm in awe over that! The thrill of designing things will never grow old even though I am! Ha!. I loved designing yesterday and I love it today. Gifts from God.
This fall I'm going to plant garlic in my little garden. After a long winter's nap the garlic will be harvested in June or July. There are many varieties of garlic and I'm fond of Thai and Spanish. This will be the first time I've planted garlic so it will be a learning experience. I'll keep you posted. No vampires here!
The ISBN number has been purchased for my second book! If you're familiar with publishing then you know that once you get to this part of the process you're homeward bound. My second book, a book of faith has been a labor of love. It's taken much longer than I expected, but since I'm new to book writing my expectations are limited. So many folks have asked me questions about writing a book, and honestly when I stop to answer it's simple, just do it! Don't wait for the perfect writing room or method, just write. That's actually the best advise a writer could give another writer. This new book will be available at our shop and different outlets where books are sold. Gifts from God.
