Few life events hold a candle to the satisfaction of getting my book of faith published and distributed through bookstores and outlets. Even with national television appearances, a presence at the Emmy's and American Music Awards, being a radio show host, magazine features, and morning show interviews, nothing compares to the reward of sharing my faith through this book!
It's funny how you never really know how something will change your life until you experience it. This book has profoundly impacted my heart. Some might believe that a best-selling book would bring a sense of completeness, but that isn't a requirement for me to have these warm and fuzzy spiritual feelings. I'm excited to share my story with others, hoping my personal experiences will inspire and move them. You can pick up your copy on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It will also be available at my shop in a couple of weeks.
I've been spending my Saturday mornings at our local Farmers Market picking up fresh peaches and locally grown honey. I mentioned in my last post how tasty peaches are drizzled with honey. I'm still on that summer kick!
We've had an unusual summer weather-wise. It's been rainy and then hot, cool, in between, and rather wonky. I kind of like Wonky in the summertime. Usually, it's so darn hot and miserable with the high Midwest humidity it's refreshing to have a change. The days are dipped in a fall essence, and yes, I'm eager for the sweater weather to return! However, I'm also enjoying fresh-cut flowers from my beds and plucking off cucumbers and tomatoes from the raised beds and arbor. Good things.
I've started to dig into fall design at our shop. Autumn is my favorite season at the shop simply because it transforms with hues of brown and amber and begins to fill with yummy scents like pear and apple. It's also brief! We release our holiday soap in November, but production kicks in months before. I've started fall, and winter soap manufacturing. The life of a soap maker never grows old or boring it evolves and enhances my mood.
I've also updated my Amazon and Walmart stores. I always feel rushed to style my home and shop with fall so it feels so good to get a jump and some extra time to enjoy the season. If you want, do it! I'm in awe of how just a few little changes can transform a space. New pillow covers, a sprig of fall leaves, or a soft and fuzzy throw really add a punch of fall enhancement without breaking the bank. Since I'm usually on a budget, it's reassuring to know that style change doesn't cost an arm and leg. I'm super picky in choices and only spend my hard-earned money on items that can be used over and over without being trendy or out of style. Much thought goes into my purchases for that reason. You can purchase the scrolls here.
I tossed some wildflower seeds into a wooden planter and was thrilled when Forget Me Not bloomed! I've never had much luck when I planted it in the ground, but in containers, it's shined! Unexpected happiness is driven by simple things.
For me, summer means sheets hanging in the breeze! There's nothing on earth that compares to crisp linen sheets kissed with the summer sun! Nothing! When I climb into my bed and my head hits the pillow the freshness soothes my mind, body, and soul! I picked up a clothesline gadget a few years ago and love it. If you want to experience fresh air bedding here's a link to ordering one.
We unboxed a great selection of leather belts at the shop last week. I'm a belt snob! From the quality of the leather to the brass buckle, I'm picky about my belts. I have a couple of favorite belts that I've had for over twenty years! They're my favorite now and have been my favorite all those years ago too!
The fall outsourcing shopping is complete. Just as I'm picky about my belts, I'm also fastidious when it comes to outsourcing our shop. We're excited to share our collections with you!
