Throughout the many years of designing products and creating for our shop, one constant has always woven everything together — nature. Whether it’s the essence of a simple fruit or the influence of a more intricate concept, that connection remains strong and continues to be my favorite form of inspiration.
There’s something truly special about knowing that what grows from the earth can shape and inspire our designs. It adds a beautiful layer of depth and simplicity to everything we create."** 🌿🍊 The humble little persimmon is a perfect example of that or maybe it's dried pods from a Rose of Sharon, either way, the spark shines bright!
Today’s soap-making session is all about our beloved Oats and Goats! This rich, creamy goat milk soap, enhanced with ground oats, has earned its place as one of our most popular creations. While it can be a little finicky to make — not impossible, just a bit of extra chemistry magic — the results are always worth it.
Years ago, we had fresh goat milk delivered right to our shop door. But as with many things over the past twenty-eight years, times have changed. Now, we use organic powdered goat milk, carefully mixed with water to recreate that same fresh, skin-loving goodness. It’s a simple, effective way to keep the quality we’re known for, and I love how it brings a touch of nostalgia to each batch.
Whether you've been a fan of Oats and Goats for years or are just discovering it, this soap is a gentle reminder of how nature’s best ingredients never go out of style. Here's to tradition, a little patience, and the joy of handmade goodness!
I'm bringing back a few of our favorite collections this season. Lake House has always been a favorite wrapped with fond memories of spending summers at the lake staying up late at night listening to Beaker Street and talking about boys. Ha! Water skiing, halter tops, and cutoffs also blend in with the memories.
Lake House Collection is curated with those sweet visions.
Sweet Grass is on Its Way! 🌿
Have you ever experienced the scent of Sweet Grass? It’s truly one-of-a-kind, and I can’t wait for it to arrive soon! Known for its earthy, slightly sweet aroma, it’s no wonder this grass has been cherished for generations.
But the best part? The smell. Unbelievable! Stay tuned — it won’t be long before this fragrant beauty graces our shop. You’re going to love it!
✨ Have you ever grown Sweet Grass before? Tell me what you think! My cairn terrier loves laying in it on a hot summer day because it's nice and cool.
A few years ago I shared my method of making Hydrosol. You would be surprised at just how easy it is and you can typically make them in your kitchen with common items that you already have.
If I have a few extra moments I'll share how to. One of the first hydrosols that I made was Sweet Grass. I'll never forget the sweet scent bellowed throughout our home with each drop.
We have a Magnolia tree just a few houses down, and every time I walk by when it’s in bloom, it feels like I’m transported to another world. A few summers ago, I couldn’t resist clipping one of its stunning blooms.
This particular variety is unique — instead of the early spring blossoms you might expect, it waits until early summer to show off its beauty. And let me tell you, the wait is worth it! 🌿✨
Do you have a favorite Magnolia memory or a tree that brings you joy?
We have Angel Trumpet Seeds available at both our shop and website.
Take in some Spring!
