We decided to plan a social distance getaway for a few days. We took a little vacation last summer here and we had eyed the tents when we stayed in a cabin in Camp Long Creek.
This southern Missouri getaway should be a must-have place to visit! The accommodations are top-notch and during this awkward time of not getting too close to other humans the perfect alternative to a vacation plan.
Have you ever taken a bath under the stars? I would highly recommend doing it! Bathing under the stars as the moon shines above is just, well heaven.
The bed was super comfy and the atmosphere, well, nothing short of summer amazing!
At night we'd light our little lanterns and set on the deck that backs up to the lake. Such a welcome invitation to break away from city life.
We ate ice cream and watched the boats!
We made campfires and ate smores!
We also rode this!
We went on this.
I'm still on vacation through Thursday and we're now laying low at home. The dog days of summer seem to be arriving early which means it's going to be hot!
I usually always long for the fall season to arrive once it becomes so sticky hot and uncomfortable, but this summer I'm going to try and appreciate its glory because who knows what's in store once autumn comes. I'm taking each week at a time and not making any long term plans.
It feels a bit scary to operate my business without knowing what the future holds, but I know for certain the outcome shall be perfectly fine and that all will work out. I'm amongst a large group of other small businesses that are thinking the same. Somehow it feels reassuring to know this.
If you're reading this and you're one of my customers, I'd like to shake your hand and give you a huge hug for continuing to show your support and patronage.
I do have some what-if plans in place if things get really crazy. It is a good thing to have what-if plans for your business. Sometimes the what-if plans may flop but it's reassuring to have them.
We weren't planning on getting away but I'm sure happy that we did because all the crazy is a bit calmer now.
Keep the faith.
Jill
