Bittersweet and the little soap company: Packaging

This is a shot taken a couple of months ago of the soap wrack in the studio. It doesn't look like this now! Bottom wrack is completely empty and I'm shuffling bars around here and there.

It's getting down to the Christmas wire. There are still holdiay soaps available but they too are dissapearing. Still making every attempt to keep product in stock for shoppers. Since the soap has a curing time of 4-6 weeks once it's gone, well you know.

Putting together some green packaging ideas for Spring that are coming along nicely.

A jar of freshly made "Sugar Plum" burs-ty balls sit in the glass apothecary jars awaiting someone to dig in and scoop up.

What is it about brown paper wrappings that I love so? I could tell you but it would go on and on for hours. If you do a search for the three words on this blog you will see past thoughts on the subject of bp wrappings.

Brown paper bags filled with Oat's & Goat's facial brick, French Clay Mask, Shea Butter Face Creme. Each one dressed up with a doilies and silk ribbon.

Have I told you how much I love silk ribbon?

Those are a few glimpses of Bittersweet Spring 2011. Brown Paper Wrappings with vintage botanical prints rolled in. "Botanical Blooms"Savon. A new line of Spring and Summer soaps that will be arriving early Spring both at the studio and on the web site.

It's hard for some to even begin to imagine thoughts of Spring before Christmas.

I have always enjoyed having something to look forward to.

Soon, I'll be sharing the homemade cocoa recipe and the fat fluffy mallows, some holiday packaging, and if time, printed labels for you to attach to your bags of cocoa. Minimal items needed to make both. Who wouldn't want homemade cocoa and plump from scratch marshmallow's to help warm them during the cold winter months ahead?

Two hugs are better than one

I get excited over what some would consider silly or unnecessary nevertheless that's how I roll! Topic in point...

This little pattern book created by Repro Depot. Some of you fabric loving girls are already familiar with the on-line fabric store but did you know they also have a pattern book. The book is filled with a variety of print and web-resolution patterns similar to those textiles in which they offer in their fabric boutique.

Since I'm a graphic loving kind of girl and a packaging guru the pattern book is more than a cool tool to have around the studio! That's but one of the many designs to choose from in the book.

Not sure what's going on with Repro web site but here's a link to purchase the books. Yes, they have more than one pattern book! Joy, joy!

The sky is the limit on what you can create with these pretty patterns.

Origami, stationary, business cards, web site, banners, calling card, lined envelopes, book marks, hang tags, and of course soap wrapping! My mind is spinning, spinning!

Off to lunch with a dear sweet long time friend. We're going to our favorite spot, Ginger Sue's. I am craving their fish & Chips! Remember Gilmore Girls and Luke's Place? Ginger Sue's is very much like Luke's Place and my friendly little town of Liberty is also. Well, let's just say the writers must have created Gilmore Girls after a visit to our quaint downtown. After lunch, a jaunt over to my friend Jules vintage boutique, Aggieal's Attic. You would love her shop!
